For more than 35 years now, Peter LoCascio and his Trade Show Consultants has been helping companies make the most of their trade show experiences.
Now an Oregonian, LoCascio grew up in New York working with his father at Exhibit Craft. He went on to manage 40 trade shows a year for Olivetti Underwood before switching to the client side of the business and working for the likes of UNIVAC and Memorex.
Exhibit Edge recently had a great interview with LoCascio that includes some helpful tips and insight on how to really capitalize on everything the modern trade show has to offer.
It’s a good — and helpful — read.

The showroom displays an array of PosterGarden’s products, including the Sophora Tension Fabric Display, Fabric Popups, an Event Tent, Banners, Headers, Fabric Counters, and more. All of PosterGardens products and services, including design work, are available through the Irvine office.

There is good design, and then there is blow-your-mind design.
By partnering with the Portland design firm Inkwell Creative for all of its internal and external graphic design services, PosterGarden has taken the design element of its portable displays to an entirely new level.
“To support our growing sales efforts, we really felt that we needed to step up our graphic design offerings,” said
Travis Rigby, CEO of PosterGarden. “For us, Inkwell not only has a real familiarity with our products and customer base, but an exceptional pool of talent and ability to help clients see the value of great design in marketing.”

Headquartered just blocks away from PosterGarden in Portland, Inkwell Creative specializes in design, branding, marketing and related consulting. The firm will work closely with PosterGarden and its integrated systems for all design-related projects, including customer art and graphics. Internal design and other processes will also run through Inkwell in a true partnership with PosterGarden.
“Partnering with PosterGarden is an exciting move for our agency,” said Connie Orson, Director of New Business
Development at Inkwell. “Not only do we get to strengthen our relationship with PosterGarden, but we’ll also expose their clients to the benefits of striking design to help attract the right business.”
Rigby said both PosterGarden and Inkwell will benefit from the new partnership, but the biggest benefactors will be PosterGarden customers.
“By giving our customers access to a professional design firm with multiple talented graphic artists, they’ll be much happier with their own graphics and thereby happier with the printing and products we provide them,” he said.
“We see this enhanced level of service as a boon to our growing business and a win for our customers, who are always looking for the most attractive and attention-grabbing portable displays they can find. We think they’ll be
thrilled with the new process and the fantastic work of our partners at Inkwell.”

For more than a few years now, PosterGarden has been growing its commitment to all things sustainable. The Portland company has kind of been an industry leader, and was making moves in the green direction at the front edge of the movement that has now come to make its way into the portable display industry.

In a June 2010 in Specialty Fabrics Review, writer Jan Brenny takes a look at the benefits of repurposing and recycling fabrics from portable displays and how it’s not just good for the environment, but for the bottom line.
Featured in the story is PosterGarden CEO Travis Rigby, who talks about his company’s efforts in the sustainability realm. Among those are PosterGarden’s “Redeem Green”http://www.postergarden.com/redeemgreen program, which offers a $25 credit toward a future purchase to customers who return their old stands to PosterGarden for recycling.
The company also offers a slew of products that are made of recycled materials and are recyclable themselves. A few examples: banner stands, tensioned fabric displays, and LED Lights.
Guess it’s just nice to see a company get some recognition for leading the way.

How do you use your portable display?
One company in our Summer 2010 cover story — The Many Ways of Portable Displays needed a head-turning banner stand to catch people’s attention at the aisle level. Another wanted to make a big splash at a presentation for Microsoft. And still another needed something new and natural-looking to help launch a new product line with a similar feel.
There are countless ways to use portable displays, and in an economy like this, their many benefits over large custom displays shine even brighter than ever. Read about them in this issue and you’ll see why portable displays will probably make great sense for you too.
