PosterGarden’s knack for eye-catching design has again made waves with readers of the tradeshow industry’s top publication, EXHIBITOR magazine.
According to results from a recent On Target® Ad Readership Study conducted by Readex Research, PosterGarden’s advertisement from the October 2011 issue of EXHIBITOR was one of the most effective and visually appealing in the entire magazine. In the study, readers scored ads in four different categories: visual appeal, ease of reading, amount of information, and its clear communication of benefits.
“It’s always nice to have your work recognized, and to be recognized by a publication like EXHIBTOR, two years in a row, is just fantastic,” said Travis Rigby, President and CEO of PosterGarden. “It really means a lot to us and gives our work some real validation.”
The winning ad showcased one of PosterGarden’s most innovative portable displays, a fabric popup known as the Sophora. Easy to use, lightweight, and incredibly versatile, the Sophora is also a visually stunning display that boasts full-color graphics printed on recycled and recyclable EcoKnit fabric. The display itself won an EXHIBITOR Product Design Award in 2010.

“We have displays, like the Sophora, that are both simple and bold,” said Michael Rigby, PosterGarden’s Director of Product Development and the designer of the ad. “It’s a great formula for a portable displays, but it also works really well for our ads. Thanks to some great feedback from EXHIBITOR, we’ve really been able to sharpen our ads and boost our results over the past couple years.”
PosterGarden ads will continue to run in the monthly print editions of EXHIBITOR throughout 2012 on the back cover of the magazine, a coveted spot that PosterGarden moved into in the fall of 2011. The ads will spotlight many of PosterGarden’s unique portable displays, including some new products currently in development.

A lot of little steps make up the process of ordering a portable display. There’s the initial searching through catalogs or on the web to find out what’s available and what might work for you. There’s comparing one company to another and one display to a whole bunch of others,
Once those are nailed down, you also have to take into consideration your timeframe, your design and whether or not the company you’ve chosen will be able to deliver on what they promise — all with a dose of good customer service
Christina Collada, community manager for Google Places, went through the process recently with PosterGarden. Her experience was a good one. She shared a glimpse of it here:
“Ordered a custom canopy tent from PosterGarden that is just snazzy. It really helps us pop at events. We were on a tight schedule. They made it work and still maintained quality, taking the time to do a color sample that was on the same material as the final product.”

Even better, Collada, who works in Portland, Ore., appreciated the fact that PosterGarden is itself headquartered in Portland.
“Love that they manufacture right here in PDX,” she said. “Will definitely be using them again for more signage whenever we need it.”
It’s a great example of how all the little things can add up to a really great experience — the best kind to have.

Think of portable displays and your mind might skip right into the tradeshow or convention space. After all, banner stands, popup booths and tension fabric displays have long been the most effective displays for just those kinds of venues.
But there are companies out there who are using portable displays in entirely different ways and taking real advantage of their flexibility, versatility and overall appeal.
One such company: Silhouette Optical.
An international manufacturer of high fashion eyewear, Silhouette first put PosterGarden’s portable displays on display last year at the 82nd annual Academy Awards. Celebrities and press who attended the event came across Silhouette’s displays in the celebrity gifting lounge.
This year, Silhouette is back at it, using PosterGarden’s Rollup Banner and Flora Retractable Banner Stand, this time in an elegant hotel suite.

According to one representative from the company, the banners ad great branding to all of their events. It’s a concept that not only works, but that shows just how truly versatile portable displays can be.

In the world of portable displays, one graphic format has gradually become the choice for just about anyone looking for something that’s lightweight, flexible, colorful and effective: fabric.
Companies like PosterGarden have long specialized in fabric displays because they know the benefits that fabric brings to the table. The company’s Fabric Popups, its award-winning Sophora, and its smaller pillars, counters and tabletop fabric displays have helped convince exhibitors that fabric is a wise choice — and it is.

Underscoring the rise of fabric, Exhibit City News recently published an illuminating story, Tension fabric continues its show floor takeover. In it, EXC talks about the benefits of fabric with three experts in the field: PosterGarden’s Michael Rigby, Jana McQuilkin, marketing manager for Moss Inc, and Karen O’Rourke,
It’s a great read. And you’ll find it here.

Last year, it was PosterGarden’s Sophora Tension Fabric Display that took home a People’s Choice Award at EXHIBITOR.
This year, PosterGarden did it at EXHIBITOR again with its Varia.Lux, a versatile, multiple-configuration banner stand unlike anything else around.
Like traditional banner stands, the Varia.Lux has a sturdy base, lightweight pole, and full-color retractable graphics.
But beyond that, the Varia.Lux has little else in common with its archaic tradeshow cousins. It’s actually a multiple configuration display that can be used not only as a full-length, 8-foot banner stand, but also as a stunning compact tabletop display.
“These days, a lot of people need a portable display that’s more than just a one-trick pony,” said Michael Rigby, PosterGarden’s Director of Product Development. “The Varia.Lux easily converts from a full-length stand to a tabletop one – or anywhere in between – and gives exhibitors the flexibility they need for a range of different settings.”
The Varia.Lux gets its versatility from an innovative universal connection joint that allows for the stand’s simple configuration changes. An optional bracket also provides an easy way to connect two Varia.Lux stands together for a two-sided display.
In addition, the Varia.Lux employs new design features and accents that set it apart from standard banner stands. In place of aluminum endcaps, which often bend and bow, damaging the internal graphic mechanism, the Varia.Lux endcaps are made of sturdy chromoly steel.
Unlike banner stands that have bases constructed of multiple pieces, the Varia.Lux base is a one-
piece, lightweight aluminum extrusion that ensures stability. The entire base, along with magnetic endcap covers, can also be customized with printed, wraparound graphics.
“The Varia.Lux is the first of many new innovations from PosterGarden that are really going to give customers a lot more creativity and flexibility in their displays,” Rigby said. “And the new design features and accents are adding a unique flare and an unmatched level of quality. As our award from EXHIBITOR shows, people are really going to like these displays.”
